The Murphys Locke Vineyards kicked off the 2018 harvest last night with the Viognier and Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Both now in getting crushed! Kevin often says many hands makes light and work. Last night we had a larger crew and were able to finish at an earlier time than expected. As always, Viognier was a rather quick pick, but Cabernet Sauvignon slows us down since the grape/vine has a woody aspect, which makes picking difficult.
Overall, the fruit looks like some of the best we have seen in awhile, especially our Cabernet Sauvignon. Next up is the Zinfandel and Petite Sirah!
